A downpour for much of the first half didn't seem to bother the Wayzata and Edina girls lacrosse teams too much. The Hornets built a 9-4 halftime lead, only to see Wayzata battle back to tie the game on several occasions.
The teams ended regulation tied 15-15 after Edina goalie Tara Basting stopped Wayzata's Meg Ransom at point blank range just as the second half ended.
The teams each scored three times in the first two overtimes, sending the game to a sudden-death overtime period.
Catherine MacLennan scored the game-winner as the Hornets pulled out a 19-18 win, their second of the season over the Trojans.
Wayzata's boys beat Edina 7-6 in overtime to remain undefeated.
